1956 Porsche 356 European beehive T1 sunroof coupe. I sanded off the multiple layers of paint and found the brazed over European script holes and confirmed it was indeed one of Hoffman' s short lived “Europeans” (see pic of brazed over holes). I drove this car for about 50 miles to test the motor and the transmission- everything ran great, no major issues other than it appeared to run rich. The rear axle seals also leaked, and it had a few electrical issues. This car DID NOT come from the factory with the sunroof (the golde V sunroof came from a very early 1956 donor 356 ( # 55?21) as the sunroof is stamped with a # 21. ..This clip also had the rounded windshield.. The Auction includes the car and all parts shown unless otherwise specified. The louvered lid shown on the car is not the original lid, and is not included with the base auction. However, the original stamped rear lid is rust free and is included in this auction(See pic). I already own a concours -level 356 Porsche and wanted something a little more gruff with a few scars and a rumble under the bonnet (a fair-weather driver).
